OBSERVED:
I came across your site and thought you might
be intrested...About 10 years ago we got called to a distress 50 year old
female who was 4 km along the walking track of the Barron River Falls/Power
Station walking track. We attended and walk to the location on foot. We
located the distress female shaking uncontrollably and was in 'shock'.
I telephoned her daughter from a ranger phone, who arrived at the location.
We stayed on the walking track for about thirty minutes comforting the
female. I learnt from her daughter that her mother did not suffer from
any illnesses or mental health problems. Her mother was an avid walking,
who walked the track everyday for the past five years. She lived in the
suburb of Carvonica, which was 1 km from the location (Entrance to the
walking track). The daughter stated that this was unlike her mother. We
managed to get mum out of the track and back to the carpark. The female
had settled down and was able to speak. I remember he stating that she
was walking along the track on her own, when she observed a large 'creature'
to walk from right to left from the bush across the track to the opposite
bush land. She described the creature as very tall, with matted dark brown
hair, she described it's face to be dark and she could see any features.
She described the face to be like 'dark leather'?. She stated the creature
was walking down hill and made a lot of noise breaking branches. She said
she panicked, as she was alone. She stated that she had a 'panic attack'
and was unable to breath and yelled out for help. She was originally found
by another walker who telephoned us. I do not doubt this females encounter
and I still think about what she told us to this day. This female was transported
to the hospital and I don't know what happened to her after this incident.
I spoke with local Queensland Police in the area who stated that they had
heard of several encounters of a similar nature.

Large creature with matted dark brown hair,
with face like dark leather. Creature covered in thick matted hair.
