RECEIVED FROM: G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form

DATE:          03/12/02

TIME:            Approximately 2:00 A.M.

LOCATION:   4 Miles outside of Destin, Florida, Walton County

TERRAIN:       Wooded

OBSERVED:   I and my cousin had been traveling back from Panama City beach and it was around 2 or 3 am and the car over heated.   We began to walk down Hwy 98 towards Destin and heard a very loud noise, like a scream mixed with loud moaning and it was evident that something huge was crashing through the woods towards the hwy.

We initially thought it was a deer until we actually saw it break the woods and appear.   It stood approx 50 yrds from us and had an overwhelming smell...very, very pungent  and it just stood there and stared at us.    It was approx 7 ft tall very muscularish  and covered in what appeared to be brown or black hair.    Vehicles started approaching and it simply veered back into the woods and we heard it hastily go deeper into them to point of not hearing it anymore.   We were going to attempt to notify a sheriff but were concerned he would think we were both drunk or on drugs.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):  Walking down Hwy 98 towards Destin

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:   It was approx 7 ft tall, very muscularish, and covered in what appeared to be brown or black hair.

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA:  Yes, there is another sighting from this county on the GCBRO database.
