DATE:    November 2005

TIME:     6-7 pm

LOCATION:   Cherokee County, Georgia

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    My kids and I were walking down a road at dusk. They were riding their bikes, actually. When we got near the end of the road, I was facing my daughter (11 yo) and her eyes got very big and she had a bit of stunned look. I asked what was wrong. "Did you see that," she said. I asked what she was talking about. She said nothing and didn't want to talk about it. I pressed her and she said that she saw a very big animal cross the road. My boy started making fun of her saying she must have seen a truck at the end of the road where cars were passing by occasionally. She looked at him with very sound and convince stare and said "Cars don't jump and this thing jumped and was very big.  Daddy it was much bigger than you she said. Then she said she didn't want to talk about it. Later, I asked her more. She said that it was brown, jumped to the middle of the road and then jumped to the other side (two hops). She described it as "big, not fat but very muscular Daddy. I couldn't see it's head though".

What struck me was that my daughter was a little shaken up by what she saw and she used the word muscular and kind of fat (meaning thick) but not fat. She said that she couldn't see it's head because it's arms were up as it was jumping. It came out of high grass and into some thick brush down by this street. The brush was very dense in there. My daughter hasn't made the connection of what she saw and I don't want her questioned. I fear that she'll have nightmares. Several times I said, maybe it was just a dear or a bear. She said emphatically, "This wasn't a deer or bear daddy. Bears don't jump like that." What she saw was about 40 yards away. I did not smell any foul smell, so I kind of dismissed it until I talked to her later. I absolutely did not lead her in any of my questions. I have not talked about bigfoots and they do not believe in them. All her comment were made purely out of what she saw. I actually dissuaded her by telling her it was nothing.
