DATE:    August 15, 2005

TIME:     Late Evening

LOCATION:   Jefferson County, Indiana

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    Earlier that day my friends and I were sitting around a fire (there were two more people other than myself there) When at first we heard a really loud screaming noise and what sounded like rustling around and what sounded to be fairly large sticks about the size of a human arm, breaking in the woods, it just sounded like a fight going on in the woods.  Followed within about five to ten minutes later a really deep bellowing or roar, and I've been in the woods practically my whole life, rather if I'm hunting or just going into the woods just to sit and listen or just to walk around, and im 22 now and I've never before or after heard that noise again. So my friends and I left the campsite and went back to the house about five miles coming out of the woods to find another one of my friends had just arrived, because we had plans to go camping that night, and we told him about the incident and he pretty much laughed at us, well after grabbing a few guns for protection we headed back to the campsite, after resting in and the long conversation about what had just happened, we were sitting around the campfire talking when my friend asked me if i heard that, well i listened just as everyone else did and we could hear something walking around us staying just out of sight on the outskirts of the wood line it sounded like, the camp sight has about a 40 yard radius all the way around and we could hear something walking around us in a circle. I fired off a couple of shots with my shotgun, and it stopped for about 15 minutes until we started to hear it again, that lasted for about an hour and a half, then it stopped again, we didn't hear it for a while.  My friends and I were looking around the clearing in the woods we were in when my friend whispered to me if I see that when I saw what he was looking at it took my breath away and my hair stood up on end, what I saw and what I assume everyone else saw was something standing on the outskirts of the woodbine only about 20 to 30 yards away, it looked to be around 6 1/2 foot tall with what I could see was clumpy ragged looking hair.  I could not make out exactly what it was because it was completely dark by the time this had taken place and our only source of light was a campfire, it was like seeing someone's silhouette, but I could tell it was hairy and it stood upright, my other friend raised his gun a pointed at it, the thing stepped back and to the side unlike any animal I've seen that usually turns around and then walks away.

Needless to say we got out of there and went back the next day and found where the thing was standing, it looked as if something stood there for a while because all the weeds and things were flat, and we could see the path in the weeds and small trees flattened as if something had walked down the hill and away.

Activities of Witness:   We were all fishing at his pond prior to going hunting.

Description of Creature:  The thing stood about 6 1/2 feet tall on the upright position like a human would stand, and it had clumpy hair all over its body.
