TIME:            Many Different Times
 

LOCATION:     Lisbon, Louisiana, Claiborne Parish
                   I cannot remember the number for the immediate road
                   it was on. But it was less than a mile from Hwy 2 on
                   the north side.

TERRAIN:       Wooded
 
 

OBSERVED:      Many incidents over a span of years at our home. We heard various noises, saw 3-toed footprints of a large and small "something" we couldn't define.
Bear tracks were ruled out. Heard this thing breathing one night as it walked through our backyard. Saw it through the window once after it hit the back of our home and shook the entire house. The window we saw it through was quite high off the ground so it must have been quite tall. We could not make out much as far as details go, it was at night. We could see it was dark colored and hairy. It covered the entire window from top to bottom and side to side. This must have been the chest area as no head was visible.

We found an area that looked to us like something rather large had been bedding down. It was a large circular shape at the foot of an old hollowed out tree. It had thick brush around it.  It had pinestraw and leaves packed down inside like a man camping with no tent might make. Next to this was a small pile of feathers and bones. Not strewn around like we might have figured it would be, but lain in a fairly neat stack. We found hair, brown to light brown in color. It was hard to tell, it was very dirty and nasty and had a horrible odor. It was about 4 to 5 inches long. We sent the hair off to a man who said he knew someone who could have it analyzed for us. We never heard from him again.

My grandmother heard it scream and it caused her to injure herself getting away. There is just too much to mention here. There were a lot of other details that I am sure I have left out. It was also so long ago and we never reported it because whenever we mentioned it to people they just laughed. However, there were others in this area next to our house that had incidents as well and even shot at this thing or things. My dogs were terrified of it and would leave home whenever it came around. We always had to go fetch them. We never got a close look at it, but I am convinced it was bigfoot.

There were lots of small trees with the tops broke out too high up for most animals or people to do. And there was one particular tree that had the bark stripped off it in a rather large area. It was not clawed off either, but like it had been peeled or scraped off with a blunt instrument. I have no idea if this is related at all, but I thought it was worth mentioning because it was in the same area as the "bed" was found.

On another occasion my step-father and I were hunting in Middlefork Bottom and were followed in the woods by something that sounded like it was blowing a strange and funny sounding horn. We had never heard the sound before, and I can't find a way to describe it. It frightened us because it kept following us and we became lost and it was getting dark, but it kept just out of sight the entire time.

Around the same time frame we had our occurences, there was a 12 yr old boy hunting in Middlefork Bottom who was found on his deer stand in complete shock. It was quite a while before the child was coherent enough to tell what happened to him.  He said a half-animal, half-man had walked up to his deer stand. When asked why he did not shoot it, he said "It looked too human".
 

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):  Various
 

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:   We estimated between 7 and 8 ft. tall. It was brown in color and had to be quite large to cover the entire dining room window we saw it through. Can't say for sure, but if the hair we found on a barbed wire fence was from it, then it's hair was about 4 to 5 inches long. My grandmother had seen it step over this fence the day before so we were pretty sure it left the hair behind. It had a putrid smell like something dead at times, but not always. The footprints were larger than any of our feet, though we didn't measure them for exact length and width. They had 5 to 6 ft. between footprints and the footprints had 3 toes.
 

OTHER NOTES:   There have been stories about the area called Middlefork Bottom for years.  People claimed it was too dark in those woods to see good even in daylight and it was so easy to loose your bearings and get lost.  It was a really thick wooded area, no one who lived around there liked to venture into those woods too far.
 

OTHER OTHER NOTES:  Different things (happened) at different times. Sometimes while hunting, sometimes while walking the dirt "well" road behind our house. Other times we were just minding our own business and it came to us.
 

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA?:   There have been reports in that same general area for years and I believe they are still there to this day.
