Report Posted To GCBRO Web Site On:  September 21, 2000

DATE:    October 2010

TIME:     0530-0600

LOCATION:   Vernon Parrish, Louisiana

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    Heard a VERY Long Low Tone Howl-Bellow Vocalization sound

Additional Things:    Area was EXTREMELY Quiet.. After this "Sound". There was absolutely No woods sounds what so ever. No squirrels, no turkeys, no coyotes (all of which are plentiful in this area) Not even the usual small birds..NOTHING moving in the woods! Very unusual

Activities of Witness:   Mid-Late October:Archery hunting for whitetail deer. Time abt 0545 (ish). Myself and another person (Name withheld) arrived at our hunting area at the Kisatchie National Forest, Vernon Parish Louisiana, abt 0515, got our hunting equipment together and headed out (in the dark) to our hunting/stand area, we split up once we reached what we called "The Hill". I went SE, he went NW to our tree stand areas, abt 200 yards apart, each on opposite sides of "The Hill". Once I got up the tree, we always text each other to ensure no problems, and all is well. About 20 minutes into sitting, I (and my hunting buddy) heard a VERY Low, VERY  Long Howl-Bellow
This Howl-Bellow vocalization lasted what seemed 15 to 25 seconds. I texted my buddy (Jokingly).. Oh Great Werewolves, hope you got some Silver Bullets.. LOL.. he replied Oh sh*t, LOL.  Direction of this "Sound" sounded like came from the South East of where we were, but not sure, as the area has several small valley's(Hollows, and ridges, and could have came from anywhere.
Neither one of us, saw, or heard ANYTHING in the woods that morning, and we both sat in our tree stands until 10-10390 am that morning. No squirrels, no coyote's, no turkey's NOTHING!!  Very Unusual to say the least.  We both stated this was very strange, and a bit un-nerving, but shook it off, as weird. No big deal.

Description of Creature:  Did not observe any animal / creature

Other Notes:    Me and my hunting buddy joked about what we heard, but then forgot about it. I am an opened minded person, but a bit skeptical as well. I grew up and hunted most of my life. I have seen and heard Timber Wolves, Bears and small wild cats while hunting in Minnesota, I am also an avid coyote / predator  hunter, this sound was not of anything I have ever heard, I DO NOT Believe it to be a coyote, and Timber Wolves are not in Louisiana. I enjoy watching the TV shows about Bigfoot, and the Unusual.. I dont know what I heard, but after hearing the howls-vocalizations I observed on TV, they sounded quite simular. In closing, I want to state: I DO NOT know what this sound was, but find it "Unusual". I know there have been other simular sounds, and unusual sightings of "Something"  in and around the Kasatching-and Military Reservation posted on your site before.. I believe it was in 2001 or 2000. Anything is possible!

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:    No additional occurance, area was logged, and I moved out of the area.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments N/A
