OBSERVED:     I was driving from new lebanon ny towards richmond ma. about 1 mile after i had turned from 20 into 295 i saw some thing very tall thin and black. i was perhaps 1/2 mile away and it seemed to take very large steps and just glide accross the road. when i got there it had vanished into the woods. I stopped the car but did not get out i looked to where it might have gone into the woods but didnt see anything, no sign that anything had been disturbed. Initally i thought it was either the biggest bear i had ever seen or some huge deer. but in retrosepect i think my mind tried to attach something familiar to it. it almost seemed as tall as a girraffe to me and as thin but black and at the time it looked like it was two legs but I was a 1/2 mile away. it was not running accross the road either, more like taking very large smooth steps.

Activities of Witness:   I was running some errands . I didnt have any alcohol or mind altering substance.
 

Description of Creature:  it almost looked like an elongated shadow of a person. very tall and thin. I was 1/2 mile away but it seemed to cross the road a two lane highway in 6-7 strides. i could not make out its head at all. the figure almost looked two dimensional
 

Other Notes:    there lots of animals that i have seen crossing this road. Deer, bobcats, bear, but this is the firt time ive seen something this tall , or an animal that i could not recognize. last time i saw a deer on this road it stopped. this creature just moved along confidently like a bear might.
