OBSERVED:      I was visiting a friend's house. Later that evening I decided to go out onto the rear deck/patio. It was rather quiet and dark out aside from a light that was in the rear of the neighbor's house.
After a few minutes, I noticed a flicker of the light out of the corner of my eye. I looked over and seen this very tall i.e atleast 7 -8 foot creature began to run from behind the neighbor's house towards the woods. It was running upright on two legs, and it very nimble, since it also appeared to jump like an athlete over something that could have been a fence before entering the woods. 

Additional Things:  I remember what I didn't hear, and that was leaves or twigs breaking.. which I thought was strange and scary as well.. 

Activities of Witness:   N/A
 

Description of Creature:   I was not able to see it's face and only a side view of it.. but it was definitely hairy, and weight/height proportioned. It's arms swayed as it ran away.    
 

Other Notes:    I discovered months later that my friend's daughter witnessed the very same creature before I did. And that was only because she was not living at home at the time that I was there and I just happened to mention it at a gathering. She jumped up and said "I told you so" towards her father. My friend never told me that his daughter saw it too...
