Reported by: Confidential

Report Received From: The GCBRO Online Report Submission Page.

DATE:    1973-75

TIME:     near dusk, around 6 or 7 pm.

LOCATION:   Harford County, Maryland

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    this is an encounter that happened to my grandmother in the early 70's, when she was in her late 30's. this is as my
grandmother repeated it to my mother and other family members.

my grandparents and their children lived in XXXXXXX, md from the early 60's through the early 90's. when my mother and my aunts
and uncles were young, my grandmother would drive them all to nearby forest parks, to spend the day, while my grandfather worked in baltimore. they also had to drive through such forests just to get back to their home in the boonies. one evening in the early fall,
around dusk, they all packed into the car and began the drive home. as they drove through the little dirt road through the woods, my grandmother noticed a tall person standing on top of a picnic table, just off of the path. it was the first person they had seen that day in that area of the woods, so my grandmother slowed down so as not to hit the person, or any other people who may have been nearby, but also to say hello. as she drew closer to the picnic table, though, she realized it it was a very strange person. it was about 7 or 8 feet tall, not including the picnic table. it was not heavyset but well muscled, and covered with reddish-brown hair. it smelled terribly, like rotting meat or feces or something equally bad. judging by the smell that it was a hobo, she made to roll up the window. the face was humanoid, in its proportion, but not human. as she got closer, they made eye contact. that's when she noticed the beady, glowing
red eyes. and that's when she decided it probably wasn't a person after all. fearing for her several young children in the car, my grandmother floored it past the thing, which watched her calmly before shambling off into the woods.

this is all according to my grandmother, who is not undeducated or prone to believing in the supernatural. however, she remains
adamant about what she saw.

Activities of Witness:   driving to and through to a nearby forest park.

Description of Creature:  7-8 feet tall, covered in reddish-brown hair, horribly smelly. had small, red-glowing eyes, a man-like face. stood upright, walked at a forward-leaning lope. did not seem afraid, just curious and dumbfounded in the way it stared my grandmother in the face

Other Notes:    N/A
