OBSERVED:    I was 12 years old and watching my sleeping younger brothers for a few hours while my parents where out have a few drinks on a Friday night. I was sitting on lying on the living room couch near a side window watching television around 11pm when I heard a horrifying howling scream that tapered off into a guttural laugh or chuckle.  It was close enough to the window that I was able to hear the intake of it's breath after the scream. I'd say at a distance of no more than a few feet outside the window, maybe 4-6 feet from me.

After a short time I got up enough courage to put on my boots and grab a flashlight to go see if I could find out who or what might have been outside. It had been snowing steadily all evening, but not a track was to be found anywhere in or near our yard.
 

Activities of Witness:   I was lying on the couch watching television while my younger brothers slept in the next room.

Other Notes:    I had never really given this any thought before, but some recent reading of bigfoot sightings have included descriptions of sounds that included howls, screams and diabolical laughter which suddenly struck a chord in me. I had never even considered if what I heard that night might be from something along the lines of bigfoot, but the sound I heard seemed to really fit this description at a gut level.

This entire incident is one of my most vivid memories, and it truly frightened me in a way I have never been frightened since.

It was the most ungodly horrible sound I have ever heard in my life, and I have never heard anything even remotely like it come from another human or any animal in my entire life.

I was so unsettled by this that I never even told my friends or family out of fear at being ridiculed while I was a child.

Even now, after all these years my skin goose bumps as I write about this.
