LOCATION:   Kent County, Michigan 
 

TERRAIN:    Steep wooded ravines with creek at bottom. Said to be in location of old gravel pits. 
 

OBSERVED:    This is a follow-up to an earlier report in Kent County, outside Grand Rapids, on 7/13/01. Although I cannot be certain of the specific date, the incident that I am about to describe occurred at night during the summer a few years ago shortly after a friend and his family had moved into their new home. I e-mailed a copy of the earlier report to my friend and he replied that what he heard was strangely similar to what was reported. The screams awoke my friend from sleep during the night (I do not know the approximate time). He t old me that the screams were a loud, high-pitched, shrill sound that made the hair stand up on the back of his neck. He was afraid as he had never heard anything similar to this in his life even though he has been an avid hunter/woodsman for over 30 years. He said it certainly was not like anything he had ever heard in the wild including coyotes (or another dog).
 

Activities of Witness:   At home asleep when woke by the screams at night. 
 

Description of Creature:  He said that he did not see anything.
