OBSERVED: It was about 1AM. There was a full moon but overcast shining into my window. I had left my window over my bed open as it was a beautiful night. My bed was under and against the window with the right side of the bed touching it. I had laid down earlier fully clothed not expecting to sleep long. A strong, musky odor woke me and upon opening my eyes I saw a HUGE figure not 3 feet away, looking down at me. The moon was behind it silhouetting it, so I didn't see any facial features but I could count the hairs in it's outline. As I was trying to make sense of what I was seeing this creature started to lean forward toward me. I jumped off of my bed and ran to my mothers room to retrieve a .44 revolver. As I left my bed room this creature let out a sound that I can only describe as a mix of a scream and a roar. As I reached my mothers room my sister and our great dane ran into her room terrified [sisters room was next to mine]. I grabbed the .44 and was going to go out onto the porch and untie our black lab {which was growling and barking} when my mother stepped in front of me and told me not to go outside. Just then the beast roared again close to the porch. The lab started whining and this is a dog that was afraid of no man or dog. Suddenly the gun didn't seem big enough to do any good. That was the last time it made any sound and we spent the rest of the night terrified, wondering if it was gone. I was 16 at the time and had spent many nights hunting and trapping and was very comfortable out doors day & night, but it was awhile before I would go out alone or unarmed after this.

things: This was on our family farm.
I remember that our apples were ripe and were surrounded by corn fields.
I have wondered if it was there looking for food.
Activities
of Witness: Mother, sister
and dogs were sleeping as was I.
Description
of Creature: About 7.5-8 ft. tall.
3-4 ft. wide. Massive build, thick muscular arms. Hair about
2-3 in. long and shaggy in appearance. Roar was penetrating, you
could FEEL it. Couldn't be sure of color but it appeared black even
in the moon light.

Notes: Once when I was
about 8 or 9 my parents woke me and put me and my sister in their room,
handed me a pistol and told me to let no one in but them. My mother
had awoke to a sound or something at my sisters room. When they looked
out side all they found were huge foot prints in the flower bed and huge
hand prints on the aluminum siding. My sister used to be afraid of
what she called FOO BEARS when she was 3 or 4 and spent many nights sharing
our beds. We thought this was just a child's fears of the dark ,
but now I wonder if these events are related.
