OBSERVED:     For the last 7 years we have heard sounds that we can't explain. Some sound have been with in 45 yards of us 11 pm 3 wood knocks heavy foot steps 3 more knocks very very hard & loud. Enough to scare the hell out of you. I immediately went for the gun. I shot at it 9 times. I heard rock knocking, howls, strong smell. Last night 7/21/14 grunts/growls with in 40 yards of our deck. Also several screams at least 4 different location as they were communicating. We have live here 27 years never have we heard anything like this. I'm 51 years old been hunting, camping & fishing my whole life. We in he heart of swamp & blueberry country. North east corner of Van Buren County. This goes on during June, July & August. Mostly Last two weeks of July first two of August. With a clear sky, hot, muggy & some moon it's almost a guarantee to here something. Are friends think we are crazy. But I know what we here is not native to are area. I have been sitting on my deck every night during the summer months listing for it & to it since the first set of rock knocking. That started 7 years ago. 3 loud knocks walking then 3 more loud rock knocks 12:30 am in the middle of the swamp. Can you tell me i not crazy. I plan to try baiting tonight in front of trail cam. Don't want to shoot it but i have kids playing here & this thing walking around my yard at night sounds huge. If I get a clear look at it not sure I could shoot it but i will move.
