OBSERVED:
Last Saturday night I was at our cabin near Salem, Missouri. Around 11:30
at night while sitting outside by the fire, I heard a very strange sound.
Having been going there for 25 years, I've pretty much heard it all, but
this was weird.
The
cabin is in a clearing surrounded by dense woods and hilly terrain. Typically
you will hear frogs, owls, crickets, etc. But from about 100 yards into
the woods, I heard a very loud 'whoop', followed by some other sounds.
The only way I can describe the sound is it was very ape-like and loud,
much louder than a person could make.
Being
brave, I ran inside and went to bed. About 30 minutes later I was nearly
asleep when my wife and I both heard loud crunching noise on the gravel
outside. It was the sound of something large walking slowly across the
driveway. It was not a hoofed animal.
