OBSERVED:    This information is coming to you from a second hand source.  I
didn't witness the sighting but a friend of mine did.  He owns a portion of
land in that area close the the Mississippi River in the Natchez Trace area.
I must first give you some background info on him first.  He was a ranger in
Veitnam and likes to spend alot of his time in the woods and sometimes will
go to his cabin in Natchez and spend several months alone or with a close
friend hunting or just relaxing and having a few cold brews.  His story as
it was told to me, he was with a friend camping out in the area in 1980
before he had built his cabin.  They had fashioned a misquito net over the
top of a boat that was just parked on it's trailor out in the woods.  They
were drinking beer and reading magazines to latern light when he said they
both smelt something that, in his description, smelt like a greasy damp hog.
At this point they both noticed an extremely large shadow of something
standing over the boat looking down into the boat at them.  He said it scared the heck
out of them but a soon as they saw it, it was gone.
He has recounted to me that he has heard what sounds like a woman
screaming deep in the woods in this area, hammering sounds, something
following him out of the woods on two feet in the night, and other sighting
accounts in the area.

ever meet him, but he's always been straight up with me and he's not the
type that wants unnecessary publicity so I believe him when he says these
things are true.
