OBSERVED:
I was deer hunting on private property owned by my father. It was at dusk
in early December in 1993. I was walking back to my truck as it was
getting dark. As I was walking on an old logging road I looked over to
my left and saw something I had never seen before,. It was tall, about
7 feet tall, black in color. It had rather long legs, but had unusually
long arms. It was walking parallel with me, about 100 feet away from me.
It followed me about 100 yards. Then as I walked closer to the gate where
my truck was parked it slipped off away from me deeper off into the woods.
I also remember it walked slightly slumped over and rather fast. It never
made a sound, but managed to keep its distance away from me. I never felt
to be threatened, I just kept walking in a normal fashion. I was hunting
with a Colt AR15, so I could defend myself if necessary.
I have only since discussed the matter with one person, who informed
me he had a similar experience about 10 years before in northwest Alabama.
I recall black panther sightings were made in 1974 just south from where
my property is now. Also several years ago I saw what appeared to be a
black panther deer hunting late one morning on the same property from my
tree stand. But what I saw in December, 1993 was no panther, as it was
obviously taller than me and stood on its hind legs. I have not seen anything
like this since, and I hunt a lot in December and January. But who knows,
maybe I'll get another glimpse of this again.

Description
of Creature: About 7 ft. tall, black
in color. It had long legs, but especially long arms. Its head was similar
to a gorilla, but the head was more narrower. It walked with a long stride.
and appeared to want to stay quiet. It looked at me and appeared to be
keeping up with me. It never really appeared to be a threat.
