TIME:     About 3:00 pm
 

LOCATION:   Itawamba County, Mississippi
 

TERRAIN:    Cultivated field with soybeans. also a grove of trees approx. 250 yards due east of our location.

OBSERVED:    My first cousin and i had been arrow head hunting. no roads where we were going so we had to walk at a left angle from the main road. there are no houses in the area where we were.  nothing but fields and trees.  on our way back we stopped to rest in the edge of a farmers field.  soybeans were growing in it,  they were about foot to a foot and a half high with a grove of trees also near by. we were sitting and i was looking around and noticed a stump or what i thought was a stump about 150 yards from us.  jet black it looked like it had at one time been burned it was so black.  we continued sitting for several more minutes and what i thought was a tree stump GOT UP AND WALKED LEFT FROM US.  it was no stump it walked on 2 legs for at least a 100 and 50 feet, and disappeared into the woods.  I have no idea what it was, we were so scared we ran all the way back home.  i regret that i never returned to see what kind of foot prints i might i have found.  also we have no bears here at all, so your guess is as good as mine.

Description of Creature:  Approx. 6 to 7 feet tall, jet black, almost shiny it was so black, completely covered in hair. it had no fear of us, because it sat there as long as we did before it left, almost as if it was bored.
