TIME:     Approximately 12:00am or a little later
 

LOCATION:   Montana, Flathead County
 

TERRAIN:    Mountains, the incident happened in a Meadow at the foot of a Mountain
 

OBSERVED:    I was living with family members temporarily at this time, and at the time it was on a farm 325 acres with a landing strip for a small single engine airplane, this was wide open with an ever green tree of every kind planted from seedlings, none of these over 5 feet high. This covered about ten acres, this area is a housing development now with about 200 houses and condo's there now. well at the time I was there alone while the whole household was gone for about two weeks, I did not smoke in the house, and therefore the back porch was where myself and any other smokers lit up, I was there all alone this pitch black night and went out to smoke, although I did not see anything or hear anything, I smelled an odor like rotten egg's, Not at all like a skunk, "but Rotten Egg's".  There were no other noises out that night, such as crickets, etc... I have at two points in my life smelled this same odor, one of which was a sighting on July 4th, 1979, both accounts listed on this web site. This was an eerie feeling and as my hair stood up as I became aware of this familiar feeling, I high tailed into the house and did not go out to smoke the rest of the night, or that late any night after that for awhile.

Other Notes:    Just the absolute quiet which was not usually present at that time of the year, and the feeling that something was out there. Really spooky and I don't scare easy, 2000 miles away from the last time I smelled that same odor, and 23 years later and I am still getting these signs, and feelings.
 

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments:  I have submitted two other stories dated July 4th, 1979, from Berrien County Michigan, These are all true to life and very scary. I would like to correspond with others who have had true experiences.
