OBSERVED:
While camping at the headwaters of Wilson Creek. Came into the woods surrounding
our campsite. While shinning the flash light you could see red glowing
eyes. as it got closer it was making a grunt/growl noise. We decided to
leave and pilled into the truck. I was in the back with a 12 gauge and
when we turned onto the gravel road, the creature came out of the woods
after us. It was foggy that night and the brake light lit up the shape
of a creature taller than the camper on the truck, running on two legs.
I shot a round of buck shot into the chest of the animal out of fear. It
made a loud type of scream and kept coming. We rounded the curve and never
saw it again. We have been returning yearly for 30 years and have never
seen anything since. I didn't want to write this event down because I thought
people would think we'd been doing drugs.
