OBSERVED:     I remember, I was about 12 years old. I lived right off a highway,
but there were wooded forests on both sides of the road. The occurrences
that I am about to recall, didn't strike me as too strange until years later
when I, who have always been intrigued by the phenominal, listened to a
sound file of what was described as the normal bigfoot howl.

I have always been a night owl. One summer night in particular while I was
outside on my porch I heard a sound which at first sounded as a cow's moo,
but strangely different and more drawn out. I thought it was strange but
wasn't too alarmed since there were farms not too far from my house. But
they weren't close enough, for these sounded as though it were a couple
hundred yards from me.

Well, I dismissed it as nothing too spectacular. The following night the
same thing. There was a house down the road where there were a group of
fenced in dogs. I noticed how these dogs barked for what seemed as hours
almost every night. I would hear this unusual sound quite frequently late
at night when my family would be asleep.

The next day I visited a friend of mine. We were outside when his mom asked
if I had ever heard a strange sound at night. I told her I had, end of
story. Years later, just messing around on the net I had come upon a
similar sight. Thats when I listened to a file that was reported to have
come from a bigfoot. I swear the hair on my body stood on end when I heard
the same sound which I haven't heard in years come from this sound file.
The same wailing and screaching which had perplexed me and other neighbors,
I had now realized what it was. That find prompted me to do more research.
I found out that many years before, there had been sightings in nearby
Chatam Co. It also made me think about the crunching of leaves and branches
I would hear late at night sometimes when walking back from a female's
house who lived a mile away. This too had been around the same time period
when I had first heard the wailing. I have no idea what it was in the woods
near the hwy I walked, but I dont usually get spooked like I did on those
occasions. It sounded as if whatever it was was following me along the road
walking through the woods. I'm spooked enough now to never walk that close
to a forest at night ever again.

OTHER NOTES:   Other Details: Yes, this may be strange and totally unassociated with my story but, I remember approx. at the same age when this was going on, I would
have strange but vivid dreams of bigfoot. This creature terrified me
totally. I even remember once waking up in the middle of the night with
this eerie feeling that I was being watched. Afraid and without the courage
to turn over and face my window while in bed, I had this premonition that
bigfoot was at my bedroom window watching me as I slept.
 

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA:   Yes, there had been reported sightings many years
before my experience in nearby Chatam County.
