OBSERVED:
My daughter who was about 17 at the time and myself were driving our F-150
Ford pickup from Mountain Road across Mountain View Church Road that connects
to Flat Shoals. When we had almost reached the Quaker Gap Store we
came out of a wooded section onto a straight that has a Hay field with
lots of Hay Rolls. I slowed down because Deer are in that area and
I did not want to hit a deer. As we exited the woods a very large
tall man like animal walked in front of the truck and went across the two
lane road in just a few steps. It blocked out one headlight and then
the other on the truck as it passed across. We were both frightened
and were saying did you see that.
My
daughter said what was that and I said it looked like a big foot we kept
talking about it until we reached home and were both telling my husband
about it he said you probably saw a big foot. The next day I went
to the Quaker Gap Store and they said they had heard hunters talking about
a very big bear in he area. I ask if bears could walk upright on
back feet they said yes but not for long distances. I told them what
we saw and they kind of thought we were crazy. I have never seen
anything since but that area when we come thru every one looks for the
thing. I have heard some sound in the wood near our home of sticks
smacking together and one night I thought I heard a roar. But I thought
I am just trying to revive this creature again. We don't tell people
about it because they think we are crazy but I am happy to have found other
people who have seen or heard this strange happening.

Activities
of Witness: Driving
along with daughter talking and laughing slowed down at the field to watch
for Deer.
Description
of Creature: Tall maybe 7 feet came
even with the top of my truck looking at it from the front of the truck
Hairy dark like a shadow.
Other
Notes: Not sure this
is related but the animal shelter next to us found a cave upon the mountain
that had dog collars in it. I once heard a roaring sound from deep
in the woods behind our home. And on occasion I hear sticks tapping
but I figured it was the wind tapping tree limbs. The area dogs on
certain nights go crazy barking we just figured it was a coyote I will
continue to study and be more alert from now on.
