DATE:           4-14-02

TIME:            About 12:35 A.M.

LOCATION:   Walnut Cove, North Carolina, Stokes County

TERRAIN:      Very wooded and swampy

OBSERVED:    I have been doing research on the sasquatch since college. On the
12th of April I went to visit my sister. Whenever I visit, my nephew and niece and sons and I always get on the subject of sasquatch. On the 13th of April we were browsing on your website looking at sightings in Stokes county N.C.

So, about 11:30 we decided to drive over to Stokes county on Hwy  65 where an earlier sighting had occured.  We had been riding around for about an hour and we were heading west on Hwy 65 and had driven down into a bottom when my niece stated she saw a large dark form on the left side of the road.  She stopped and backed up. We all shined our flashlights on the side of the road where she said she had seen the dark form. All we could see was thick undergrowth and swampy land.

As we were looking, suddenly, we smelled a strong odor like a dead skunk (even though all of the windows were rolled up in a fairly new car).  My son who is about 14 had become very emotional.   I had a felling not of fear but I tell you it was like an adrenalin rush.   After looking around a few minutes we drove on.  The smell lasted about 3min: in the car.  We went home and discussed the happenings of that early morning.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):  Driving around in prior sighting area.
