DATE:      6/??/98

TIME:         Around 10 p.m.

LOCATION:  Country road just south of Doniphan, Nebraska, Hall County
                       Hwy 6 or Hwy 281

TERRAIN:    Corn fields, country road

OBSERVED:
My dad & I were coming back from races up by Doniphan, Nebraska.  We took country roads back home south to Hastings and I believe it was probably late June because the corn was somewhat high on either side of the road.  It was pretty late and I was in the passenger seat when I looked out the windshield and saw,  to my left, what honestly looked to be a bear.  It was on all fours walking with us but very slowly and sorta waddling along like a bear would.  It was very large in the rear and dark in color. i didn't get a great look so I'm not sure at all what it was.  I told my dad that I saw a bear but he didn't believe me and just laughed.  If I lived in Wyoming or Colorado or some mountainous state I would not of thought twice about it but there are rarely bears in Nebraska.  This thing could of been almost anything and I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility of big foot.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESSES:  driving & talking

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:  short and stalky; dark, black, coarse hair; walking on all fours("waddling"), not that i know of

OTHER NOTES: there are no bears in Nebraska
