DATE:    July 25, 2004

TIME:     3:30 PM

LOCATION:   Allegany County, New York

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    I was walking up XXXX Rd., just past my driveway when I saw a creature next to the road, it was very dark almost black. At first I thought it was a bear, but when it climbed up the ditch through the field and into the woods it was up on two legs and climbing and walking like a man would. I went up to where it climbed up, but the only print was where it sunk in the mud and it wasn't distinguishable, and the path it made through the weeds into the woods wasn't that of how a bear would clear through brush. I didn't follow it into the woods, and that was the last I'd saw of it.

It didn't make any noises except for breaking twigs as it went into the woods.

Activities of Witness:   On a walk up the road when came across the creature.

Description of Creature:  Very dark, almost black head to toe, looked to be over 7 ft. tall. Startled me when it rose up from the ditch on hind legs.

Other Notes:    N/A

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:    Haven't seen it or seen any evidence of it since. I am doing a thorough study of the woods where it was encountered between 9/30/08 and 10/12/08, to hopefully find some more evidence of the creature.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments N/A
