REPORT RECEIVED FromThe GCBRO Online Report Submission Form.

DATE:    September 1998

TIME:     After Midnight

LOCATION:   Oklahoma, Pawnee County

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    i was at school in tulsa and i was going to meet a chat friend in pawnee it was late on summer night in sept i left tulsa about 12 pm heading there for a weekend as i was driving the county roads there when the shock on my 87 cutlass came off and blew the back tire out about 1 am in pawnee county. i had no jack and no lug wrench with me. which sucked. i got the car to the side of the road near a bridge and rail road tracks and no houses in sight i just sat there. wondering what i was going to do. it was a clear night i and i could see good. the moom was full. as i sat on the hood of my car i started hearing strange screams and sounds from the woods and movement as limbs and branch being snap and leaves crunching. lucky i had my 9 mm with me i slowly walked to the car and got my gun and sat in my car. i seen something dart across the field very fast and in the the woods across the road at that time and was scared to death. a couple of hours had pasted and there was no cars or anyone coming down the road. i had no idea where i was and then out of the blue a train came down the tracks. i was relieved that i was not alone the night sounds stopped but it was the first thing that i could relize was real and i knew what it was and i was'nt in the twilight zone. after the train had past the sounds had stopped and a man was going home and he stopped and picked me up about 3:30 am.  i was so relieved i did not have to spend anymore time there i hated to leave my car but i was happy to get out of there. i went back the next morning and fixed my car and went back to tulsa and never took that road again. but it was one time i was scared to death i did not know anyone else had any encounters like that till i seen them on your website.

Activities of Witness:   Walking dog

Description of Creature:  Only a dark blur as it ran past.

Other Notes:    About 20 years ago some teenagers saw something shaking a large tree in this area.

Additional Notes or Comments: A followup phone interview was conducted by GCBRO Researcher Dennis Coffey.  The witness no longer lives in Oklahoma so, this is the best that could be done at this time. Although no real additional information was available, below is the information Dennis posted to the GCBRO following his telephone interview with the witness.

"In the fall of 1998, while traveling west on state highway ###, approximately ## miles ##### of Pawnee about half an hour past midnight, the shock absorber came off of the witness' car and damaged the tire. Having no jack or lug wrench with him he was stranded until someone might drive by and offer help. While he was waiting for someone to come along the secluded 2 lane road he sat on the hood of his car near a bridge (probably ######### Creek) and a railroad track with no houses or lights in sight.  As he waited, the witness began hearing strange sounds and screams coming from the woods.  After a while he began hearing branches and limbs snapping and leaves crunching as something was moving through the woods.  The witness retrieved his handgun from where he had it stowed and sat inside the car with it.  While sitting in his car he saw something dart across the field and into the woods behind his car. After a couple of more hours someone drove up and gave the witness a ride into town.  He was so frightened by this experience that he never took that road again."
