DATE:    April 19, 1990

TIME:     2:00-3:00 am

LOCATION:   Southeast Oklahoma, along the Indian Nation Turnpike

TERRAIN:    Wooded and Rocky in some areas

OBSERVED:    My husband and I decided to make a home in Arkansas. My oldest child was only four months old. My parents decided to help us move and we left late from our Texas home so we would reach Arkansas in the morning. My mother and I were in the car and the men were in the UHAUL. As we pass the lookout on the other side of the turnpike our headlights caught this large man like creature covered in reddish/brown hair walking along the side of the road. As the UHAUL passed it. It took off in front of us and in like giant steps went across the four lanes in seconds and up the other embankment and disappeared. My mother wanted to stop but we were all so scared that we decided to wait until the next gas stop. My father was a scientist in optics and very skeptical about everything. That night in McAlester he was quiet. I asked him if he saw what we saw. He just nodded his head and said nothing else about it. He has since passed but my mother brought up the subject the other day and I knew I better tell this story before it is never told.

Activities of Witness:   We were moving to Arkansas from East Texas. It is the closest connecting highway to Oklahoma and Northwest AR.

Description of Creature:  It was about 7 ft to 8 ft tall. It had reddish/brown hair covering the body. The arms hung down it side and swayed a little. It had big shoulders and left to soon for us to see facial features.

Other Notes:    N/A

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:  I had heard some stories by the Choctaw nation but I really didn't get into it.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments N/A
