Report Posted To GCBRO Web Site On  February 4, 2012

DATE:    01/14/12

TIME:     11:30 PM

LOCATION:   Allendale County, South Carolina

TERRAIN:    Swampy

OBSERVED:    Returning to home after mothers funeral in missouri when I saw what looked like two apes standing by side of road as I entered the SRNS.  The creatures had very dark thick short hair. Most animals will reflect light from their eyes in the headlights but these did not. They could have been fake due to the fact they did not move. I saw a wild boar and a deer during the same drive and these were not of those species.  There are signs warning travelers not to stop or leave their cars at any time during the 17 mile transit through the SRNS. Spooky. Sorry to say I was not bold enough to go back and take another look.

Additional Info:    Other animals were seen along the route opossum, deer, wild pig but they were identifiable.

Activities of Witness:    Late at night driving for 10 hours.

Description of Creature:  Looked like apes down on front knuckles. Massive upper bodies and long arms. Extremely dark short hair. Almost missed seeing them because of it. No reflection of headlights in eyes was seen as with other animals. Looked like 600 or 700 hundred pound animals.

Other Notes:    This area covers several hundred square miles of restricted area. No public access allowed. Hope I didn't see something I wasn't supposed to.

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:    N/A

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments N/A
