RECEIVED: From the G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form

DATE:         08/15/00

TIME:          Approximately 5:00

LOCATION:  Clarksville, Tennessee, Montgomery County,
                  Cumberland River

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:  My dad and I were going fishing in a creek that branched off the Cumberland River.  About 30 minutes after we went over the bank we heard some weird owl noises.  I asked dad if those were normal.   He said no.

Later we heard it only feet away on the trail walking around.  We sat in complete silence for nearly 45 minutes.  One of us made a loud noise and it started throwing rocks at us.  I never actually saw the creature because the trees along the bank obstructed my view.

We went up the bank and on the trail and saw some footprints.  We used my foot as a scale. I wear a size 13 and this print was 2 inches longer than mine and about 1 1/2 inces wider than mine.

We also heard something beating on trees.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):   Everything was normal.  My dad wanted to show me where he saw a large, hairy creature jump across the creek.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:   Rust colored hair, big

OTHER NOTES:   My dad saw something run out of a cowfield and half way across the creek then up the other bank.  He said it was big, covered with rust colored hair and fast.  Also a couple days later we went back with my sister.  We entered the cowfield to where the creek ended and saw a lot of torn down trees placed in all sorts of different arrangments.  Some were in teepee formations and some were just set on the ground right next to each other.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SUBMITTED:  My dad also told me someone bought a large African wildcat and it got loose in that area.

FOLLOW UPS:    My dad went back recently and said he found a cow torn to shreds in one of his recent e-mails.  We both have never heard a sighting about a cow just getting torn to shreds though.

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA: Investigations are ongoing, any updates on any reports will be reported and noted on the Recent Reports page at first of each month.
