OBSERVED: Field Trip....  Object:  To check out area another GCBRO researcher (Stan)
had discovered with bigfoot activity/track in his previous investigations of this area.  There currently has been no field trip report filed by Stan, but his photographs are included in this report which can be found by clicking on the link below.

I had gone out to do some investigating (Susan) and I took along my two sons as it was a nice day out and they wanted to go along for the hike.  We went to a known area for Bigfoot activity in Overton County.  It was approximately 2:00 P.M., on March 10, 2001.
I was wanting to check out an area that another GCBRO investigator, Stan,  had found    as I hadn't been there before.

We got to where I had found my first track from a previous field trip and then we approached an area a little past where it goes to three different areas.   We went to the right towards where Stan had found an area where he had experienced several wood knocking sounds over a period of time late in the evening.  I had heard of this place and had been looking for it for some time.

We did find there a track which I at first believed was a 3 toed footprint, but now realize it is a large hand print, a place where a bigfoot had put its hand down and the knuckles are clearly seen.  I was puzzled at the track because it thought it was possible it was a bear track but it didn't look anything like a bear track because of the elongated looking digits.(photograph below)  The fact that this was a hand print in the mud pointed out to me by Bear as he has seen many other such tracks in MS.  We took pictures of it.  I only wished I would have had plaster to take the cast. We then went a little further about 10 feet and found many more like prints, of which at the time, I had difficulty determining as to the nature of them.  Now it is very obvious that they were knuckle prints all over the place, however, I did not find any foot tracks, but Stan had found one earlier but not in this same spot.  I didn't take any pictures of these type trackcs but I now wished I would have after I had thought about them later.

After this we went on trying to find another place that Stan had told me about.  It was so thick with brush/bushes/trees/briars there and we went though a sort of small field area  trying to find a better way in and to see if we could tell where the place we sought was at.  We got to a place where the road had been cut off evidently to where people couldn't get  in to it with a car or truck.  It had a big pile of dirt and debris pushed up in the way.  We got on top of it and we could barley see the place we were hunting and it looked like a better place to go in to get to it.

We got down the other side and slid a little getting down it and started through the woods  towards our target area.  We made it finally. The creek ran just below there.  I took pictures of the place and the creek and then we looked carefully around as I was looking for the apples Stan had put out.  I couldn't find any of the apples, and was looking to see if I could find any tracks or markers.  We couldn't find any.  Then we started back out and my oldest son wanted to take another way out and I was following him.  We ended up in a thicket like I had seen in LA at Monster Hunters.   We went on through it and I need to say we got scratched up quite badly going though it.   I told my son we were in a bad place and we tried to hurry and get through it and I noticed a Pine tree about 6 foot high broken over, and stopped and took a picture of it and my son was telling me to hurry up.  He seemed very nervous in this thicket and it was quite eerie.  Just a feeling that something was watching us.

We got back out of there and in to the field place and got back on the path and started back down towards the car.  It was so quiet and my oldest son said he never heard it that quiet there before so that he couldn't even hear any crickets which are usually very loud there.   As we started on down I could hear like someone or something taking heavy steps, bipedal in nature, crackling the dried leaves and sticks. I told the boys to stop all at one time and then I only heard one step, waited just a minute, and told them to start walking,  and we stopped again at the same time, and we did, and only heard it one step again.  We done this four times and each time only hearing it step one time after we stopped.

By then we had gotten to the car and I was looking as I knew it was on the left of us and I knew it was there. We was looking to see if we could see it.  I couldn't see it.  Then my son said hand me the camera as he didn't want to take his eyes off  what he was seeing.  He took a picture and handed it back and showed me where he had seen it. I looked where he was showing me and it was hard to see where he was showing me.  I then seen what he was talking about.  It was in behind a tree and sneaking a peek and you only saw it for a quick second.  It looked to be about 6 foot tall to me and my oldest son said it had a cone shape head and was black in color.  Oh yes,  it was in the part we had went though that was so thick and we had got scratched up in.  I really didn't feel threatened by it as it seemed to be just curious. Then who knows, it might have been upset with us for going through the thicket we had went through that it was in.

As we were watching it, it looked to move just a little closer and I told the boys it was time to get in the car . We had gotten in the car and was looking to see if we could still see it and we couldn't any longer.   We stayed and played the radio to see if we could get it to come back out to see it better and no, that didn't work.   I guess they done caught on to that one. I tried to make the whoop sounds they make to see if I could get one to answer me and that didn't work either.  So we went ahead and left and that was about 3.30 P.M.

PHOTOGRAPH # 1

Track found that I thought was a foot print, but in reality
it is a hand print with obvious knuckle prints where it
looks to be toe prints.  I sent this photograph to Bear and he
told me in his opinion that this is the case here.  I do agree myself.
The track measured approximately 11-12 inches long. ©
