REPORT RECEIVED FromThe GCBRO Online Report Submission Form.

DATE:    08/1995

TIME:     1:30 am

LOCATION:   Texas, Cherokee County

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    I was driving my neice around on backroads between ######## and ##########.  We came around a curve and saw something crossing the road.  It was very large, approximately 8 feet tall.  I'm not sure how wide it was, but it definitely was not narrow.  It had blackish brown hair all over it, and it was standing on two legs.  It went ahead and crossed at a leisurely pace.  It did not attempt to go into the woods for cover, it just stood there looking at us.  It was not afraid, but I was scared to death and stepped on the gas.  It seemed to be right outside the passenger side window for 5 or 6 seconds as we were accelerating.  My neice couldn't get her window up fast enough.  We were so scared, we couldn't scream.  My attention was focused on getting us as far as we could from there as fast as I could.  We went straight home through Rusk.  On the way, we were trying to figure out what it could have possibly been, but neither of us could come up with anything.  Please note that I was raised in Maydelle.  I've ridden horses all through the woods and along the Neches River bottom.  I do not consider myself easily spooked.  I'm aware of the thing that are out there.  I never went down that road again.  My neice and I never talked about this incident after that night.  I don't know what it was that I saw, and I hope to never see it again.

Activities of Witness:   Driving the backroads late at night

Description of Creature:    Approximately 8 feet tall, black-brown hair all over.  It had blackish brown hair all over it, and it was standing on two legs.

Follow Up Report:  (Posted on June 17,2003)
From the Field Research Notes of Al Hicks, GCBRO Field Researcher/Investigator.

On June 11, 2003, I interviewed the witness involved in the Cherokee County sighting dated August of 1995.

The witness is a 26 year old female, soft spoken, well mannered and very believable.  Her body language indicated truthfullness, and as she recounted her story, she became visibly shaken as she related the part of the story about being pursued.

The encounter only lasted a few seconds as indicated in the initial report. Although I was unable to obtain many more details, I was able to ascertain that the posture of the creature was upright with the shoulders rolled forward, (much like a gorilla) and that the arms seemed to be very long.
While the creature pursued them, as it was alongside their full size pickup truck, all that was visible in the window was the chest.  She indicated that the chest was massive, covered with hair, (not naked like a gorilla), and did not have pendulous breasts. (obviously male).

I believe that this witness saw an animal of unknown origin.  She was born and raised in that area and is well acquainted with all known wildlife, including bears, from that region.

Additional Notes or Comments:  (FROM WEB MASTER) It should also be noted that the area in which this event took place is also in the same general area of many other Bigfoot sightings.
