Report Posted To GCBRO Web Site OnJanuary 31, 2005

DATE:    June 29, 2004

TIME:     3:00 am

LOCATION:   Eastland County, Texas

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    Prior to and after this we heard what sounded similar to a woman screaming.
The watch dogs wouldn't get off the porch of our country farm that is located down an old dirt road.  They stared off into the darkness growling viciously.  This lasted for about an hour.  In the past 2 weeks there had been 5 other dogs go missing from neighboring houses.  The next morning I went out side to where the dogs had been staring and found this partial print.  It was larger than my 5'11, 225 lb husband's hand spread out as far as it would go.  My grandparents have had several different sightings of panthers so this is what I thought it was.  2 days later the watch dogs that have been there for 6 years just disappeared.  I just recently had the film developed.  That is when it occurred to me that this isn't a panther track.

Activities of Witness:   Everybody had been inside most of the day because it was so hot.

Description of Creature:  N/A

Other Notes:    We have seen black panthers on more then one occasion.  When I contacted the Texas Wildlife Department they told me that black panthers in Texas was just a myth and that I probably saw a dark colored mountain lion.  We know what we saw and it was BLACK.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments Upon contact the witness had no additional information to add to this report.
