RECEIVED: From the G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form

DATE:              April 21, 2001

TIME:

LOCATION:      Utah, Utah County
Red Mountain Pass, Strawberry Reservoir Area

TERRAIN:       Mountains, the terrain was rugged with steep hills and deep valleys,
with mostly aspen trees, though there were pine, cedar, and fir trees
there also.  The trees got so thick in some places that u can hardly
                   see in between them.

OBSERVED:       I will tell u what happened in this email.  About 2 months ago I was
in the Strawberry Resevoir area, scouting for deer ,its just off the resevoir in an area called Red Mountain Pass, and I am not sure if it was an actual siting of bigfoot I'm not too sure bout that.  Even if it was I'm not too sure bout it.  Anyway, like I said I
was scouting for deer when I smelled something really bad, like a skunk that
rolled in raw sewage, and I thought it was something dead.  So I kept on going
down this old atv trail.  After a while the smell sort of mellowed down and I
just kept walking along, I noticed there were no deer in the area and my
cousin remarked on it saying " I thought u said there were deer in this area"
I mumbled something obscene to him, and continued along.  As we rounded this
bend there was a tremendous crash, like thunder, in the forest off to our
right.  It was preceded by twigs and branches breaking and something big
running off at a high speed.  It sounded like what ever it was weighed a lot.
We heared it running off for a little bit then the sound stopped.  We just
shrugged it off as a moose or elk.  After a while I got this feeling I was
being watched and kept looking around the woods.  My cousin noticed it too and
suggested we get going on home.  I told him no cause we still havent seen the
deer and since I will be hunting there this year I wanted to see if there was
deer, but through out the time we were there we didnt see a single deer at
all, but we felt like we were followed and watched since we heard the crash,
and that smell seemed to follow us also.  Once in a while I thought I heard
footsteps in the forest and yelled out once saying "hello!! is anyone out
there?"   This was preceded by a grunt which I thought was my cousin, but it
wasnt.  As we got back into his truck we heard a god awful scream that sounded
like a women but more deep like a man.  We didnt even investigate and just left
immediatly.  Again I havent a clue what it was, that's y i'm asking someone there
for their opinion.

Additional information below that was added to this report:

I was talking to my cousin last night to see if he recalled anything more
about our encounter, and he said he thought he seen a shadow or outline of a
bipedal "person" walking from tree to tree, but he said he doesnt know for
sure.  He said if it was something real he estimates it to be at least around
5 to 6 ft tall.  He doesnt want to come forward and reveal his name because he
is afraid of being ridiculed by his family and friends.  I hope I have answered
all of your questions but if u have more I will gratefully answer any of
them. I agree with your opinion about the scream we heard,i thing what ever it
was it was happy we left.  This weekend I am planning to back there with some
of my friends to see if i can actually see "it" and to see if I can get a
picture of "it" or at least a good look at it.  I will keep u updated on
anything new I find out, I am really interested in finding out what it was.
