TIME:  10:00 P.M.

LOCATION:  Utah, Utah County
 

TERRAIN:  Mountains, woods and rocky
 

OBSERVED:  It was a family reunion and like every year my cousins and I were playing a game called Werewolf, around 10:00 P.M. when we all heard a eerie noise and decided to check it out.  Before we started in the direction of the noise I went to a  tent and grabbed a .22 rifle and a raccoon light.  As we were walking towards the sound we heard it again and it kinda freaked us out .  We all got closer together because it seemed louder and closer this time and we looked back at the camp and no one else was awake.  We all looked at each other and I could see the fear in some of their eyes, and I admit that I was afraid .

I told the others that if it was a wild animal it will chase you if you ran and we needed to stay in a group.  We walked about 100 yds.  further and as one of my cousins was shining the raccoon light back and forth in a sweeping motion we caught  sight of something  knealing behind a bush. All we could see was a head  with eyes that would make even the bravest combat veteran freak out, they just glowed when the light hit them. Then "it" raisied an arm to shield "its" face.   I told the cousin that was holding the light to keep the light on "it" but at that time he sneezed and dropped the light . Then we heard "it" again as it  ran off. When my cousin picked the light up again we couldn't find "it" anywhere, so we all walked slowly back to camp. Once there, we pulled all of our sleeping bags out of our tents put them around a bonfire we made and waited for daylight.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESSES:   Camping with family and playing a game.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:   Height estimated at 6 ft. because the bush it was hiding behind was 4 1/2 ft. tall. Covered in black, dirty fur and it looked like it had claws or long fingernails.

OTHER NOTES:   When I went back at a later date with my family to clean up the campsite area, I heard the same strange noise.
