LOCATION:   Pittsylvania County, Virginia
 

TERRAIN:    An open field with about 3 foot high grass or hay.
 

OBSERVED:    I was on my way to work that night and the moon was shining brightly. The creature heard my car approaching and stood up from a crouching position. It seemed to have been holding something in it's hands and eating it before quickly standing. As soon as I saw it's red eye shine I was horrified. This creature was very thin, greyish-black in color, very shaggy, and it stood about 6 foot tall. It never attempted to run, it simply watched me drive by. I have seem something similar very recently in my backyard. I don't know what this creature is, but I do know that I don't go outside at night unless I absolutely have to. I don't feel like this creature is friendly or harmless. I think if you're unlucky enough to find yourself face to face with it, you won't live to tell anyone about it.
 

Activities of Witness:   I took a shower and left my home for work. I came upon this creature a few miles from my home.
 

Description of Creature:  Very thin, at least 6 ft. tall, maybe 6 and 1/2. It had a bright red eye shine in my headlights. It had very long fingers and nails and was holding something. It had shaggy greyish-black fur covering it's entire body. It had a snout similar to a dog, but clearly wasn't a dog.
 

Other Notes:    I have seen and heard very strange things in this area and it's always at night. There have been numerous occasions. I once heard something in the woods and it sounded almost like a senile old man laughing, but not quite that human.

My sister and her husband witnessed a very strange animal in their yard in the same time frame. They live within 5 miles of me. It's much closer through the woods. My brother, who also lives approximately 5 miles away saw something very similar while hunting in the woods. This was also in the same time frame. I'm the only one so far who has seen it (or something like it) since then.
