TERRAIN:    Wooded 

 
OBSERVED:      i heard my dog barking with a very strange tone and i went on my back porch to see and as i stepped off the porch i heard my dog yelp. i looked over at my pond and i saw a mountain lion standing at the pond and looking at me. i was approximately 20 yards from him and he was large and a light fawn color. he looked to be full sized approx 3 ft high and like 4 ft long, not including the tail. the tail was very long and curved up at the bottom. after shaking in shock for what seemed to be eternity, i slowly moved inside to get my gun. he had then crouched down and was hiding behind a bush pile but i could still see part of him and will never forget his eyes. they were a piercing color that i believe to be green. i shot above him and then he ran thru my yard and across the street. 


Additional Things:   i was just told by my neighbor, that a cougar/mountain lion, had stepped into a large animal trap and had drug the trap still attatched, up a tree. this location is right across the street in a hollow. i was informed that he was then shot due to his injuries. i believe that the rangers were called and participated in the situation. this was supposedly 2 days ago, which would be 01/07/2014. 


Activities of Witness:   i was eating something when i heard my dog's weird bark.
 

Description of Creature:  long body, long tail and beautiful green eyes that were bright and clear in my flashlight beam.
