DATE:    October 2007

TIME:     Late at night

LOCATION:   Will County, Illinois

TERRAIN:    Open land (cornfields) residential area

OBSERVED:    In late October early November 2007 I was on the computer writing e-mails online. I always have my shades drawn for privacy and my TV was also on. In was well past 10:00pm (because I was up past my bedtime [I get up at 5:00am] but was determined to finish some e-mails. I had my window partially open about 6 inches or so and my shades were drawn, like I had said, but they stopped at the window opening.

As I was typing, I heard something outside my window standing on the rocks right outside my bedroom window. It was as if it was crouching to look in my window and literally I was frozen with fear that some peeping Tom was outside my window. I went into some kind of a "fight or flight" mode and my heart began beating in my throat. I couldn't catch my breath with fear and every hair on my body was standing straight up. I stopped typing (clicking on my keyboard) to listen momentarily to this person/thing outside my window acting like I hadn't heard its presence. Whatever it was, it was on 2 feet and it was shifting its weight constantly. It would then stop when I stopped clicking the keys on my keyboard.

I calmly got up and turned the lights out in my bedroom so only the light of the TV in my room was showing any illumination. I quickly shut off the TV to be able to see outside (or any shadows, etc.) and I sat quietly on the edge of my bed listening for this thing to do something else. My heart still in my throat, I didn't know what else to do.  It had stopped rocking and just stayed still.

My 82 year old grandmother was in the next room watching her TV sitting in her chair when I urged her to get up and come listen to "something outside my window."  She could see I was visibly upset and came with me hesitantly. I turned off the main light in the living room so we could have a better vantage point of peering outside but I was too afraid to look out the windows. I motioned to her to "shhhh" as we entered my bedroom and I motioned for her to sit on the bed (2 feet from the window). She sat quietly and heard this thing also. You could hear the crunching of the rocks (landscaping) underneath its feet and it rocking back and forth.  There was no smell of any kind (not that I remember) and no other noises coming from it.

My gram began whispering, "Oh ______, just go out the front door, I'm sure it's rabbits or something - go look and see." With that, we both heard a loud THUMP. I said, "Rabbits that weigh 500 lb. and standing on 2 feet??"  So I urged HER to go outside and check. LOL She said, "What do you want ME to do?"  I said, "Well if you want me to be so brave to go see what's out there, I'll be right behind you with a flashlight." She kind of laughed and said, "No way are you gonna get me out there."  We bantered for half a minute and it STILL did not go away. I told my gram I would go get my dad. (I am a 35 year old professional and I live with my grandmother, sister and father - we all share the rent of my gram's house. So there are 4 of us living in this house).

With that, I got up and told my father that someone was standing outside my window and I could clearly hear them on the rocks shifting back and forth and had never been so scared in all my life. He got up from his room on the other end of the house and bust out the front door making so much noise and shouting at the top of his lungs. My dad is 6'3" and 450 lb.. and believe me, my dad would give whatever this thing was a run for its money!

Anyway, it was gone. Whatever it was standing right outside my window was gone.

The only reason I am telling you this is that in January of this year (2008) we have had A LOT of snow. I never forgot that incident and chalked it up to well .. I don't know what. But one morning we had a snowfall and were getting ready to head off to church. It had snowed about 2 - 3 inches I believe. My sister was eating breakfast and said to me (as I looked out the window facing the street [and in the same direction as my bedroom window faces]) she said to me, "Did you see those tracks?" I looked down onto the sidewalk in front of our house and there were these HUGE 3 toed tracks. I have no idea how big these things were and there were only 2 visible tracks that were "full."

My sister came to the window and blurted out an explicative and said, "That is SCARY. That thing is HUGE!"  I looked out the kitchen window and thought there must have been some kind of trick my eyes were playing on me. Perhaps a combination of rabbits were making one big footprint?  I don't know. All I know there were 2 very distinct tracks and it had 3 toes and it was FREAKYYYY looking.

I work (as do my father and my sister) all day long and we don't get home until around 6:00pm or so. One night (in late January this year) I came inside and headed straight for the bedroom to check my email. IT WAS NOT WINDY OUTSIDE. All of a sudden I heard a loud THUMP against our house. I thought to myself, "Oh it's probably a tree branch hitting the side of the house..."  It happened again THUMP! I immediately got that same feeling of being frozen with fear. It was as if something outside wanted my attention or I have no idea ...  I of course, went for protection to my 82 year old grandmother's room LOL .. and asked her, "Do you hear that thumping?"  She said no she didn't. But she said, "That happens to me during the day but on my side of the house."  (We are on opposite sides of the house) She continued to tell me, "That happens sometimes and it scares the life out of me."

So I have no idea what this thing is (if anything). I am not claiming it is bigfoot but it's all just weird. We live in a mobile home park (not a trailer park, BIG difference - this is a respectable community full of retired people) and across the street from our house is a huge cornfield. There are power lines not far from us at all. Just down the road (about 5 minutes driving) is A LOT of woods and in fact a forest preserve that we (my 2 sisters, brother, parents and grandparents lived for several years).

Activities of Witness:   N/A

Description of Creature:  I only heard "something."  Never saw anything except 2 tracks.

Other Notes:    The forest preserve that is just down the road a little bit from us was also home to cow pastures and cornfields and the forest was THICK and very dense. There is also a huge man made pond that is surrounded by thick forest. The owner of all this property cleared just enough land to put a nice spacious house or two on it. There was no one else that lived on this property except 3 houses (at the time) and the forest preserve just down the road.

I bring this up because my sister (3 years younger than I) was in Kindergarten when we moved into this house. Our house was at the top of a large hill and at the bottom of the hill was the "lake" as we called it, and forest was all around us. Anyway, as young children - many of us had the feeling of being watched growing up and were afraid to play outside sometimes. And other times, it was a lot of fun to be in those woods. My younger sister, in particular, when she was alone would be so afraid of something (whatever it was she never said) chasing her from the lake area and would run up the hill as fast as she could. This happened on many occasions. She never said what she thought was chasing her.
